In the movies like Batman Begins, Incredible Hulk, Dark Knight, Iron Man and others, we saw all the U.S super heroes went global and even intergalactic. All these movies contest a simplistic version of patriotism and disqualification of the other one. The trend of super heroes may seem to be a new one, but in fact this concept has been around since the inception of the human race. It all had begun when the first human had helped his people against a tyrant or an evil force. Not surprisingly, most of the super hero films have been made in lines with the Marvel Films and DC movies. Heroes like Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Hulk and Wolverine have all made from the comics to the front screens. So, i have formulated this list keeping into account the worldwide earnings of the movie, critical reception and fan following all around the world. 10. Hell Boy

At number 10 we have the 2004 super natural super hero movie, Hell Boy. Starring in the movie are Ron Pearlman, Selma Blair and John Hurt. The entire plot of the movie is based on the story shown in the dark horse comics, Hell Boy: Seed of Destruction. Distributed by Columbia Studios and produced by the Revolution studies, the film received an average score of nearly 81 %. Overall the movie did well on the box office.

9. Superman Returns        

At number 9 we have yet another sequel to the Superman Franchise directed by Ryan Singer. The movie was released in the year 2006 starring Brandon Routh, Kate Bosworth and the legendary Kevin Spacey. The total production budget of the movie was nearly $ 209 million due to which all the superman fans had some very high expectations from the movie, but things did not turn out as planned. Although the movie managed to receive some positive reviews from the critics, but was not able to make a huge mark at the box office. It only managed to make $ 391, 081,192 which could have been much more if the story line was made more interesting.

8. Watchmen

At number 8 we have the superhero mystery film directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Lawrence Gordon and Lloyd Levin. The lead roles in the movie were played by Jackie Earle Haley, Patrick Wilson and Billy Crudup. The budget of the movie was $ 130 million, but in the end it managed to make only $ 185 million. In terms of critical reception, the movie had received mixed reviews. It was just an OK type movie, worth a single time watch.

7. Fantastic Four (Rise of the Silver Surfer)

At number 6 we have the sequel to the 2005 super hero movie, Fantastic Four. Directed by Tim Story and produced by Avi Arad and Ralph Winter, the movie starred Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Ioan Gruffudd. The movie had managed to make $ 289 million which helped the movie make some profit in comparison to the budget. In terms of critical reception, the movie had received mostly negative reviews but better from the first edition.

6. X-Men First Class

At number 6 we have the best movie ever in the X Men Franchise. Directed by Matthew Vaughan and produced by Gregory Goodman and Simon Kinberg, the movie starred James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Kevin Bacon. The move made $ 353 million at the box office and also managed to get positive reviews from the side of the critics. It was more like an X Men Origins Magneto type movie, as the plot mainly revolved around the life of Magneto.

With the lead being played by Chris Evans, Captain America, The First Avenger, is an American Super Hero film that was released in the year 2011. Directed by Joe Johnston and produced by Kevin Feige, this movie really keeps you going. From the start to the end, the overall movie is fun to watch with a number of action packed scenes with the plot dating back to the times of Adolf Hitler. The movie had managed to make nearly $ 369 million and had also received positive reviews from the side of the critics.

4. Iron Man

Now here’s another movie that will never let you down. And how can it, as the lead is being played by one of the most versatile actor in Hollywood, Robert Downey Jr. The movie had managed to earn nearly $585 million which indeed signifies the success of the movie. In terms of critical reception, the movie had received some highly positive reviews. The sequel to the movie, Iron Man 2, had also made some huge earnings at the box office with nearly $ 623 million.

3. Spiderman 3

At number 3 we have your friendly neighborhood Spiderman. Spiderman 3 was a sequel to the super hit and high grossing series Spiderman. Directed by Sam Raimi and produced by Avi Arad and Laura Ziskin, the movie had starred Tobey Maguire, James Franco and Kirsten Dunst. The movie had managed to gross nearly $890 million at the box office which was indeed a huge success of this movie. Now here what’s more interesting is the fact that why such a great and highly applauded movie received mixed reviews from the critics. It still remains a question.

2. The Avengers

No one would have thought of seeing the Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor and Black Widow in a single movie. So, at number 2 we have the movie that has brought all the superheroes under one banner, The Avengers. Directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Kevin Feige, the movie starred Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L Jackson. Making nearly $ 1,460,083,851, the movie is the third highest grossing movie of all times after Titanic and Avatar. The movie has also managed to earn worldwide critical acclaim and is still alive at the box office which means that the total gross earnings would be more till the shows last.

1.    The Dark Knight

Why so serious? At number 1 we have the movie which is indeed the best super hero movie of all time. Being directed and produced by Christopher Nolan, The Dark Knight starred by Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman. It can also be rightly said that the kind of acting which Heath Ledger had done in the movie, is the best acting ever. The movie had made more than $ 1 billion at the box office. In addition of receiving worldwide critical acclaim, the movie had received two academy awards, 1 for Best Supporting Actor and 1 for Best Sound Editing.
