Mystery is no doubt an integral aspect of the human psyche. When viewed from a psychological standpoint, even the most apparently insane violence has a meaning in the mind of the person who committed it. There is no need to be aware of this meaning and to learn from it an attempt to prevent further violence. All around the world the nature of the mysterious murders that are being carried is changing at a rapid pace. In most of the cases, the actual murderer is caught, while in other no suspect is ever found. In fact the case gets more and more confusing with the passage of time and becomes an unsolved murder. Furthermore, the murderers involved are mostly not found. 10. Oscar Romero

At number 10 we have the murder of Oscar Romero who was a well-known archbishop of his times. He served in a Catholic Church located in an area of El Salvador. But what made him famous was his outspoken nature and concern for the rights of poor. He was killed after giving a very revolutionary speech that encouraged civil disobedience. Till now it is not clear that who, in fact carried out his assassination.

9. The Box Boy

It was in the year 1957 when a large box was found on the side of the Susquehanna road named in Philadelphia. As soon as the public opened the box, a wave of horror and anger spread all around. This is because inside the box there was a body of 4 to 6 year boy with signs of brutal beating all over the body. What’s more weird is the fact the body had been wrapped out in a clean manner. Despite of the public outrage, till now the case has not been solved. What do you think about this top mystery murder.

8. Olof Palme

At number 8 we have the Swedish Prime Minister, who was killed with his wife on the way to his home. It was because of his intense regulation strategies, investigation on the nuclear programs and political agenda that he was killed, but till now it is not clear whether the murder was political or purely an act of violence.

7. Jack the Stripper

At number 7 we have a murdered who tried to copy the killing styles of Jack the ripper, another infamous murderer of his times. His main targets were the prostitutes who worked on the streets and in various bars. In a matter of a few years, the murder count had gone high up. The police were not successful in tracing out the man.

6. The Axeman

It was in the year 1918, that a sudden murder spree began in which bodies were found all over the areas of New Orleans. What’s more confusing is the fact the motive behind the murders was not money in fact it was just for amusement. In addition, the murderer specifically used an axe to cut the body into pieces. After every murder, the killer also left behind a clue for the next one, but the police were never able to trace out the person responsible.

5. Jonbenet Ramsey

At number 5 we have the murder of a girl who was found dead in the basement of her parent’s home. Her name was Jonbenet Ramsey. The crime scene and the way the murder was carried out made all the investigators baffled. No logical pattern was visible in the murder. Initially the police had also stated that the murder was carried out by a family member. Afterwards, a number of DNA tests were performed but no trace on the murderer was found.

4. Black Dahlia

It was in the year 1947 that the police came to know of another horrifying and brutal murder case in which only pieces of a woman’s body were found in a park named as the Leimert Park. Later onwards it was confirmed that it was the body of Elizabeth Short. The police was further confused by a number of false confessions from the side of a number of people. As the police had no evidence, so the case remains unsolved till today.

3. Andrew and Abbey Borden

At number 3 we have the murder that was very close to being solved. The murder of Andrew and Abbey was suspected to be carried out by their daughter Lizzie, as she behaved oddly and violently towards them. She had also burnt a dress just after the murder, but no other evidence was found against her, due to which she was released. The police did find an axe in the house, but no fingerprints of Lizzie was found on it.

2. The Zodiac Killer

It was the time of The Vietnam War protest in America, when a series of murders were reported. The killer carried out the murders in a very mysterious and flummoxed manner because of which no clue or trace was ever found. In all the killings he often sued symbols and cryptic hints which showed that he considered himself as an artist and a perfect killer. When seven murders, the actual murderer is still to be found.

1.    Jack the Ripper

It was in the year 1888, that Jack had carried out the murders of a number of prostitutes. He used some of the most horrific methods of mutilation and ripping. The way he used to cut the skin and peel the flesh showed that he was quite agile and trained in doing this. The murders are still in debate today, but like all other cases in the list, no person was ever identified as the real Jack.
