Not many people have been able to make across and conquer these mountains with thousands of mountaineers and climbers have losing their lives. 10. Mount Fuji, Japan-12,388 feet
At number 10 we have the Mount Fuji, which is not so tall, but still is one of the most dangerous mountains of them all. In the year 1707 the mountain had undergone a massive eruption which resulted in the release lava and earthquakes all around the region. In addition, the forest that surrounds the base of this mountain is also considered to be the center of death and weird happenings.
9. Denali, Alaska-20,320 feet
At number 9 we have the mountain which has been linked with the generation of some of the most devastating earthquakes in the region. Famously known by the name of Mount McKinley, this mountain is also the highest mountain in the United States of America. A number of accidents and avalanches have been reported in which many people have died. In addition, the oxygen levels are also quite low at the peak of the mountain. Some of the world’s best and most trained mountain climbers have either disappeared or perished while trying to conquer this mountain.
8. Mountain Washington, New Hampshire-6,288 feet
Known as the most dangerous small mountains in the world, the residents of the area report quite apocalyptic impacts of this mountain. More than 231 MPH speeds have been recorded on the peak of this mountain. Not to forget that in 60 MPH winds, it is impossible to hike. So, you can only imagine that that what these 230 MPH winds did to the people who tried to win over this mountain.
7. Annapurna, Central Nepal-26,545 feet
More than 50 plus calamities and deaths have been reported on this mountain, out of which most of the mountaineers have never been found. Some deaths were resulted from falling, while other from the avalanches. Not even a single person has been reported to survive from the fall of this mountain.
6. Mount Matterhorn, Swiss Border-14,691 feet
Known for its steep ridges and dangerous traverse, Mount Matterhorn has made it to our number 6th spot. The biggest danger associated with the climbing of this mountain, is the number of mountaineers trying to climb simultaneously. This increases the likelihood that the rocks would be dislodged, thus killing or injuring the climbers below. One of the most famous accidents on the mountain happened with Edward Whymper and party who all fallen to their death. The body of Francis Douglas, a team member, has never been discovered.
5. Kangchenjunga, Border between India and Nepal-27,720 feet
Known to be the third highest mountain the world, Kangchenjunga also happens to be one of the dangerous. It is also considered to be one of the toughest and most demanding mountains in the world. The first attempt to climb this mountain was made in the year 1905, but unfortunately the entire team was annihilated by an avalanche. Till now many of the most experienced mountaineers have died in trying to tackle the confusing parts of this mountain.
4. K2, Border between China and Pakistan-28,251 feet
At number 4 we have the highest peak and the second highest mountain the world, known most commonly by the name of Mount Godwin Austen. Till now nearly 6 female climbers have tried to climb this mountain, out of 5 were killed. Many have died while descending down the mountain, while others have died by falling from the steep slopes. More than 50 deaths have been reported on this mountain.
3. Siula Grande, Peruvian Andes-20,814 feet
Known for its knife like edges and ridges, at number 3 we have Suila Grande which is highly notorious for its killing strategies. One of the most famous attempts to climb this mountain was made Joe Simpson and Simon Yates which had ended in a tragedy. Their story has been depicted in the book named “Touching the Void” This mountain has also taken more lives than any other American Peak.
2. Mount Everest, The border Between Nepal and China-29,029
Hundreds of physical dangers are linked with this mountain, the chief one being the altitude sickness and the steep paths. Frostbite is one of the most common frequent dangers from which most of the climbers suffer. Many have suffered from snow blindness, acute mountain sickness, cerebral edema and hypothermia. Most of the deaths have been reported in the “death zone” which is just above 8000 meters.
1. Nanga Parbat, Pakistani Kashmir-26,657 feet
Famous by the name of “The Man Eater” and “The Killer Mountain” at number 1 we have Mount Naga Parbat. It is the ninth highest peak in the world, but what makes it the most dangerous are the severe weather changes and avalanches which have caused dozens of deaths, out of which most of the climbers have never been found. It is also said that some of the climbers were carried with the extremely fast wind that blows on the summit.
