To begin with let us consider the very basic motives of the traitors. We can safely assert that most of them did it for money while others for power and control. Some of them also did it for jealousy against the state or the particular ruler. They were so self-diluted that they even didn’t spare their own families. One can only imagine that what sort of crimes these individuals had committed and if they had been stopped at that time, then what pure form of human history we would have had. 10. Guy Fawkes
This man was a member of a group belonging to the Roman Catholics. He and his group had planned to wipe the English aristocracy. He also tried to place a gun powder mine, but was caught before he could carry out his prejudiced intentions. He was caught wearing very auspicious clothing in which he had planned for a get-away. He and his partners had also planted tons of explosives below the House of Lords. Through the course of his torture carried out by the authorities, he refused to tell the names of is partners showing that he had a deep regard for his companions, but not for the state itself. The famous V for Vendetta depicts the life of this guy.
9. Jane Fonda
Jane Fonda had grown up in a very influential family and had managed to make a place for herself in the domain of Hollywood film industry due to a number of close family connections with the industry. She had involved herself in a number of controversial causes and acts which were highly criticized. Fonda didn’t believe the Vietnam War Veterans that they were mistreated during their capture. Many of the soldiers demanded her treason after the war, but again she managed to escape due to his connections with the government elites.
8. Robert Hanssen
Robert had a very typical and confusing life history and especially his childhood in which he had suffered different forms of torture from the side of his father. He had a number of mysterious proclivities in which he had taped his sexual performances with his wife and had shown the tapes to his neighbors. He was an FBI special agent, but contrary to his so called love for the country he had sold FBI secret information to the Russians which lead to his treason. He was finally caught and is still serving a life sentence in America.
Marcus Junius Brutus, was the nephew of Julius Caesar. He was the person who played a major role in Caesar’s assassination. As Caesar had many enemies including a number of senators, Brutus had joined the senate in carrying this traitorous act. Although Brutus’ own wife pleaded him not to work with the Senate, but he did not pay heed and carried out the act with the senate. He and the senate members had attacked the Dictator with their own hands and killed him.
6. Wang Jingwei
This guy is considered as the biggest and most notorious traitor in the history of China. Under the influence of the teachings of a revolutionary, Sun Yat-Sen, he had planned to carry out civil dis obedience acts against the Chinese Government. In the year 1937, he had joined hands with the Japanese government and had betrayed his own people in those times when they needed him the most. He died before he could even see the defeat of the Japanese by the Allied forces in the World War II.
5. The Rosenbergs
The Rosenbergs were a married couple who had sold the American atomic documents and secrets to the Russians during the long and devastating cold war. They did this act in order to assert that they had communist beliefs. He also tried to leak out many other forms of important information to the Russians and had also tried to add more members in his cause against the American government. Finally, he and his wife were caught and hanged in the year 1953.
4. Benedict Arnold
Benedict had faced a number of childhood problems including poverty, bad treatment and much more. He had initially served as the American General but later on had joined the British. During the times of the American Revolution he was considered a patriot, then suddenly he surprised the entire nation due to this treacherous act of turning a strong New York fort to the British. He finally managed to escape to Britain, but they also didn’t welcome him. Having no place to go he died in poor conditions in Canada.
3. Vidkun Quisling
This man was a Norwegian traitor who had joined hands with Hitler in killing the Jews and leaking out a number of government secret documents. He was a staunch believer in the doctrine of Hitler. As a reward for his services, Hitler had appointed him the Premier, but finally he was forced to step down by the riots which were made by the citizens of that area. After the fall of Germany in Norway, Quisling was caught and executed for his murderous and prejudiced acts in 1945.
2. Aldrich Ames
At number 2 we have yet another traitor who had sold a number of American secret documents to the Russians just for the sake of making money. He did all thus just to make her spendthrift wife, Rosario happy and contended. He was willing to do anything for the Russians and for his wife. He had earned made more than $ 4.6 billion for his treacherous acts against the Americans. He was responsible for the execution for more than 10 American soldiers. Finally he was caught after great efforts and was sentenced to life prison.
1. Judas Iscariot
Who does not known this traitor? This guy was responsible for the execution of the Greatest Redeemer, Jesus Christ. He was one of the twelve Apostles and had betrayed Jesus just for the sake of thirty pieces of silver from the side of the Romans. He had informed the Roman authorities that he would kiss Jesus as a signal for the Romans about the real Jesus. He also died just after the execution of Jesus. This act indeed makes him the biggest traitor in history.
